As we prepare to enter the New Year of 2009, we thought it would be fun to have a real, fun, fancy dress New Year’s Eve party. We open the doors to BigCityBall New Year's Ball at 8:00 pm and welcome all SCA members and guests to come and ring in the New Year with friends. This is your chance to get all dressed up. Normally, we see each other in Medieval garb or in jeans. For this party, we encourage everyone to pull out all the stops and get dressed up. Any of the following three formal styles will be acceptable. - Retro black tie (appropriate to Golden age of Hollywood Glamor),
- Creative black tie, or
- Traditional black tie (suits are acceptable)
PLEASE NOTE: This is a formal dress event. No one wearing jeans, t-shirts (especially the “tuxedo” printed type) or casual wear will be admitted. Some form of formal dress that is NOT medieval or renaissance is required. See the section on “Dressing the Part” for more information about how to dress for a black tie event.
